Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Lauren received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from Mount Allison University in 2005. She received her LLB from the University of New Brunswick in 2008 and was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2009.

Lauren is an associate with the Business Team focusing in the areas of labour and employment law. She is a Member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society, the Canadian Bar Association, and FUSION Halifax. Lauren currently volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Brigadoon Village.
